Rail for back of table - in 2 pieces

Use C-clamps for the temporary attachment of the
frame to a table.
C-clamps are available from your favorite hardware
store.
Insert the 2 carriage bolts through the Left
& Right center crosspiece. Make sure the round heads of the carriage bolts
are in the counter sunk side of the left & Right cross piece.
Place the Left & Right crosspiece on the
table with the threaded end of the carriage bolts up. Take the center
crosspiece, align the holes, and place over the carriage bolts. The center piece
will be on the bottom.
Place
the washers on the carriage bolts. Turn the wing nuts down on the bolts.
Extra
force should be applied to the wing nuts when they are first tightened; this
will set the carriage bolts in the L&R cross pieces

SIZE ADJUSTMENT: There are six holes in the center
crosspiece and two holes each on the
R & L crosspieces. The maximum width of the frame is 48”.
The frame may be adjusted to 48” and 38” by the following hole
alignments.

ATTACH
SIDE ARMS –
Keep
the front center pieces on the table with the wing nuts upward. Attach the
L&R side arms to the L&R front crosspiece. Put the carriage blots
through the holes in the ends of the front and side pieces in the corners.
Put in one bolt at a time and put on the washer and wing nut. The
front assembled pieces go on top of the side leg pieces.

ATTACH
QUILT HOLDER ARMS –
Attach
the 2 shorter metal quilt holders, in the predrilled holes, on the back of the
frame.
Attach
the 2 longer metal quilt holders, with the bent ends, in the predrilled holes,
on the bottom at the front of the frame. This arm is bent on the end.

Attach
the wheels to the sewing machine cart. There
are 2 holes predrilled in the platform for each wheel.
Setting up the EQ2
IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED EQ3 TRACK SYSTEM - CONTINUE ON TO THAT PAGE
THE FRAME IS PUT TOGETHER THE SAME, BUT THE FRAME IS ATTACHED TO THE TABLE OVER THE TRACK SYSTEM.
You
will need a table area of at least 24” x 48” to use the frame at its maximum
size. A 30” x 48” table will
give you the maximum quilting area with standard size machines.
The new long arm machines will need a table that is at least 30” deep.
A larger table is acceptable as long as it is no deeper than 36”.
The sewing machine cords go over the back of the table and you must be
able to reach the foot pedal. The
surface needs to be flat and smooth. If
you have a table with an uneven surface, putting a thin sheet of plywood over
it, may be a solution. Small, 2’ x
4’, WOOD banquet tables are
available from some office supply stores. The
plastic tables vibrate too much.

Extend
the legs and set the frame on the table. Clamp the feet to the tabletop. We
recommend C-clamps. They are available at any hardware store. It is best to
clamp all 4 feet down. Always clamp down at least 3 feet by having the 2 front
and one side of the frame along the edge of the table.
To make the frame more permanent, you can
drill holes through the feet and the table top.
Insert bolts through the holes and secure with wing nuts.

Place
the sewing machine on the cart. The back of the machine should be even with the
back of the cart. The little handles
go toward the front. The stitch plate on the sewing machine should be even, or a
little lower than the sides of the frame.
If
the frame is lower than the stitch plate, the legs of the EQ2 need to be
raised. Use small pieces of wood to raise the frame to the correct height.. If
the frame is higher than the stitch plate, thin
plywood or some form of sheeting will need to be added to the cart to raise the
machine.

Rail
assembly for the back of the table

NOTICE: The 36” rail is provided to insure that a
sewing machine will not fall off the back of the table. The rail comes in two
pieces. Join the two halves together
with the enclosed screws. The rail should be securely attached to the back edge
of the table with two C-clamps.

IF
THIS RAIL IS NOT ATTACHED SECURILY TO THE TABLE YOUR SEWING MACHINE MAY FALL OFF
THE TABLE.
